What’s new in MacOS Sequoia

MacOS Sequoia

The time when Apple was moving in its corner is over. Now, users of the brand can benefit from a fairly wide compatibility, including on Mac. This should continue in this direction with the future Mac OS Sequoia operating system, full of new features. MacOS Sequoia promises to bring several enhancements and improved user experiences.

An operating system designed for gaming

MacOS Sequoia lets your computer fully utilize its technical and visual capabilities when you launch a game.

Paradoxically, this advance will only benefit a tiny fraction of Mac users. Most gamers still prefer PCs for compatibility reasons. Those who want to enjoy the latest games don’t need powerful capabilities. This is one of the great strengths of online poker and platforms like PokerStars. It aims to be equally accessible from a Mac, a traditional computer, or a simple smartphone.

The discipline has evolved exceptionally in recent times, transforming a historically outdated activity into a whole new era. Advice from players in the discipline, ongoing democratization, and new game formulas have made poker more popular than ever. The new ‘game’ mode in this Apple operating system should further enhance immersion. However, online poker was already a major digital success before MacOS Sequoia arrived.

A Safari turned upside down

As always in the digital world, not all developments announced by Apple have the same impact. The latest example is the Dynamic Island on the iPhone, which fell short of expectations on the brand’s newest phones.

However, likely, this overhaul of Safari (the Apple browser) accompanying the new MacOS Sequoia operating system could change the situation. Still, with the magic word, the famous AI (artificial intelligence), Safari promises to be much smarter. Even before reading an article in its entirety,  the user will be able to benefit from a summary generated by the Mac itself.

Videos on web pages will be much better integrated. With the ability to drag them to a corner of the screen and continue browsing as is already possible on MyCanal or YouTube, this fluidity should be appreciated.

Plans think of athletes

At a time when Strava, Komoot, and other sports platforms were all the rage,  Apple wanted to bring something new to its Maps software. This is not insignificant and should allow the firm to retain many more users: most of them often go to Google’s Maps tool.

Diversified use is often advised when it comes to maps and routes, but MacOS Sequoia will enhance this with the addition of topographic maps and trail maps should delight hikers,  trail runners and other sports enthusiasts. The first maps will be those of the 63 national parks in the United States, but, likely, other places with sports attendance in Europe will quickly see the light of day on the Maps application.

Customizing your itinerary will be possible, as will downloading these same maps to enjoy them in offline mode. Notes, transfers between devices, route characteristics… You won’t miss anything and depending on how the application evolves, Apple could well attract a whole new caste to its tool.

Siri Interaction with AirPods

Our Bluetooth headphones are already quite practical, whether they are Apple or not. With its update, the Californian company should nevertheless take it to the next level with the possibility of performing actions, in connection with Siri, without touching your headphones. “Nod, Siri understands” Apple loudly states. See you at the end of September to test these new features on MacOS Sequoia.
