The most dangerous roads in the world

You must face the unexpected because you can stupidly find yourself on an inaccessible road or risk taking one of the most dangerous roads in the world that we will see in this post. 1- In Bolivia, the Yungas road

Bolivia is a destination for nature travel and it offers real adventures. The landscape is superb and the climate is pleasant. But be careful if you take the road from La Paz to Coroico. This road is nicknamed ”  The Road of Death  “, not surprising given its danger. It is one of the scariest and most dangerous roads in the world, many vehicles end up on it every year.

2- In China, go to the Guoliang tunnel

If you take the Guoliang Tunnel in Henan Province during your trip to China, you have to be very careful to drive on this narrow road and with a ceiling height that does not exceed four meters, the slightest mistake could be fatal.

3- China, Tibet and Nepal, the Friendship Highway

The Friendship Highway, which stretches for about 1,000 km, connecting China, Tibet, and Nepal, is a road that winds between the highest peaks in the world. There are many hairpin bends, and there are no guardrails. Despite its danger, it can be traveled in both directions.

4- In Italy, the route to the Pasubio Valleys

Representing a real danger, few vehicles use this ancient road to Valli del Pasubio. Lately, it has been transformed into a hiking trail to admire the magnificent landscape.

5- In New Zealand, the Skippers Canyon route

Despite the danger it represents, this road running along mountains and cliffs near Queenstown, which links hairpin bends, is very popular with tourists. The latter are attracted by the sumptuousness of the landscapes offered by this section of road, with a magnificent view into the depths of Skippers Canyon, and danger does not scare them!

6- In Pakistan, Fairy Meadows Valley

A gravel track built by the locals, it is traced in the mountains, at the foot of Mount Nanga Parbat in Pakistan. Known to be very dangerous, it is closed in winter because of snowfall. Here too, many treks are organized to enjoy the superb landscape.

7- In Alaska, the route of James Dalton

The James Dalton Highway is also considered the most dangerous road in the world. Known as the ”  Skipping Road” or ”  Dalton Highway  ” (Alaska Route 11), it is a 415-mile (666-kilometer) trail connecting northern Fairbanks and Deadhorse in northern Alaska. It is one of the most isolated roads in the United States and is difficult to drive on due to steep slopes and dust.

8- One Inside, Zojila Pass (Himalayas)

This road is extremely dangerous and few people dare to take it. Even the best drivers in the world get cold feet as they have to cope with the narrowness of the passage while avoiding crushing the herds of cattle that also trudge along it.

9- In the Philippines, the Halsema Road

The Halsema Road winds through the northern Philippines, connecting Baguio to Bontoc. It is a 150km long zigzag route with long cliff-side sections lined with deep ravines with no safety barriers.

10- In France, the Gois passage

Located in the Bay of Bourgneuf in France and connecting the island of Noirmoutier to the continent, the Passage du Gois is safe if safety instructions and tide times are respected. Otherwise, you risk sinking there at high tide. Note that this passage is exceptionally long (4,125 kilometers). Caution is therefore advised!
