A home generally has several rooms, including the living room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and bedroom. The latter constitutes one of the main rooms of the house. We spend at least a third of our daily time there: at night.
The constitution of a bedroom
Generally speaking, the bedroom, as its name suggests, is a room that allows rest and nighttime sleep. It must therefore be a peaceful and relaxing room. Its walls should be covered in a color conveying tranquility and relaxation. To stain the walls of a bedroom, you can choose neutral colors such as light gray or beige. You can also opt for peaceful colors like blue or green. Concerning the furniture of a bedroom, it is more or less variable depending on the tastes of the owner of the house. However, a bedroom usually consists of a bed, one or two bedside tables, a wardrobe, and sometimes a television. As the main function of this room is to provide rest, the main piece of furniture remains the bed. For good quality sleep, it is essential to sleep on an effective mattress and a base that is compatible with it.
How to choose the right mattress?
The quality of sleep largely depends on the choice of mattress for the bed. However, this choice may be difficult and the majority of people tend to make mistakes. A mattress has different criteria to carefully examine before purchasing. First of all, it is important to choose between a soft mattress and a firm mattress. To make the right choice, you must consider your size. If you are quite thin, you will need to choose a soft mattress to sleep well. Otherwise, choose a firm mattress. Concerning the thickness of the mattress, choose those whose thickness is at least 20 cm. Less thick than this, the mattress risks wearing out very quickly. If its thickness is more than 30 cm, the mattress guarantees maximum longevity. However, such a thick mattress is very unattractive and presents some difficulties in handling. Furthermore, in large stores selling bedding, you will generally find mattresses between 20 cm and 30 cm thick.
How to choose the right pillow to sleep better?
Even with a good mattress, it is very important to choose the right pillow to have good quality sleep. On the market, there are several types of pillows so you will be spoiled for choice. However, not all types of pillows necessarily contribute to good quality sleep. As banal as it may seem, the shape of a pillow is very important. To get a good night’s sleep, choose a rectangular pillow. It is the only shape that guarantees good positioning of the head during sleep. Indeed, for reasons of design and originality, some people prefer square or rounded pillows. However, with a rounded pillow, your head risks being unstable throughout the night, which would cause significant sleep instability. If the pillows are square, the sleeper would tend to rest his shoulders on them, which risks tilting his head back during sleep. Concerning its density, the pillow must be thick in order to guarantee good alignment of the head. It must therefore be neither too flat nor too bulky. Furthermore, it must also be soft enough to ensure great comfort during the night.
