How to decorate a master suite?

Unlike a student room, a bedroom requires a fair balance between privacy and sobriety. The master suite is a place of sharing and communion dedicated to couples with children. It contains the private affairs and intimacy of the spouses, hence the importance of making it a cocoon that is their own. Here are some tips for successfully fitting it out.

The layout of the master suite

A so-called “classic” master suite includes a spacious bedroom and a private bathroom. It sometimes consists of a dressing room or an office depending on preferences and the available space. At a minimum, its size must be 14 m² to accommodate the necessary rooms and allow for plumbing work.

It is also imperative that the pipes and technical ducts are easily accessible to install the bathroom. To facilitate movement in the master suite, it is better to free up access to the dressing room and the bathroom and to arrange them along the same axis. Coming and going between these two spaces may indeed be disruptive.

Consulting a decoration even a professional designer is sometimes necessary to see if the available space can be transformed into a master suite and to find good decoration ideas at a lower cost.

Comfort above all

The love nest prioritizes comfort. Every detail must be thought out in such a way as to promote the well-being and the relationship of the couple. For this, it is preferable to invest in soft and cozy materials such as carpets or rugs, wool bedspreads, feather pillows, etc.

The location of the storage must be chosen carefully to simplify the installation and removal of personal effects, especially if it does not have a dressing room. If it has an office, it is necessary to delimit the spaces using partitions to avoid mixing the professional and the personal.

This way, when one has work to do, one can focus on it without disturbing the sleep the other needs to catch up on. Also, once in bed, both will be able to focus more on their rest or their libido than on the work that awaits them.
