What qualifications can you obtain from an accounting school?
Several degrees can be obtained from an accounting school.
- The Accounting and Management Diploma (DCG): initiated by the Order of Chartered Accountants, it is a diploma that can only be obtained after acquiring the BAC, a BTS in Accounting and Management, or a DUT GEA option GCF. It is the Ministry of National Education that is in charge of the administration of this diploma. It corresponds to a BAC +3. It is possible, after obtaining your DCG, to continue your studies in a Business School or preparation for the DSCG. You can also practice professions such as collaborator in an accounting firm, accounting and financial manager in an SME, mission manager or assistant management controller. All this, with only the diploma of your accounting school.
- The Higher Diploma in Accounting and Management (DSCG): This is also a diploma initiated by the Order of Chartered Accountants. To obtain it, you must already have either a DCG, a CCA Master or any other Master’s degree. The DSCG is equivalent to a Master’s degree (BAC +5) and is administered by the Ministry of National Education. With your DSCG in your pocket, you can prepare for a Diploma in Accounting or work in positions of responsibility such as a Mission Manager in an accounting firm, an Auditor or a Financial Director. It is also possible for you to obtain, with the DSCG obtained in an accounting school, another Master’s degree in another specialty.
- The Chartered Accountant Diploma (DEC): this is the last step to take in such an accounting school. With this diploma, you can practice the profession of chartered accountant. It can only be obtained with the DSCG and after three years of internship as a chartered accountant, which makes the course seem a little long (BAC +8). With the Chartered Accountant Diploma, you can practice the profession of chartered accountant either in a liberal framework or as a partner in an accounting firm that already exists or is being created.
