The entrance hall: tips for decorating it well

The entrance is the first room you see when you walk through the door: it is an introduction to the house, which must reflect the personality of all the rooms and, above all, must make our guests want to enter inside.

Optimizing space is as easy as pie!

To have a perfect entrance, you must first of all find storage space. No matter the size of the hall: you must optimize the space in any case!

Is your entrance a closed room, or on the contrary is it just a prelude to your stay? It doesn’t matter! In any case, you must gain as much space as possible and prioritize the passage. Because the hall is a place where we spend little time, but which we often use to move from one room to another. Thus, the optimization of your entrance will be done mainly thanks to versatile furniture. Versatile, in the sense that you will be able to sit on a bench, for example, and store your shoes there.

Or, you can partition the space with a hanging wardrobe from the ceiling, to hang your coats and create the illusion of a closed space. This is the number one tip for highlighting this small area, making it more pleasant, and making it “participate” in the life of the whole house.

Storage: how to save space?

To avoid installing cupboards in a hall that is too small, opt instead for coat hooks and other means of hanging things: this way, you will save floor space and lighten the room.

If your entrance is the right size, then it is quite possible to install a cupboard there. Be careful, however, not to take hinged doors, which are too bulky, but rather curtains or sliding doors.

Floors, walls, and ceilings are the most common solutions for hanging shelves, racks, etc. But why deprive yourself of the space available in the corners of the entrance?
They are often unused, and yet more and more manufacturers are creating corner furniture to use this space,

Little things make a big whole

The entryway is certainly an area that we use a lot to get from point A to point B. But if we made the hall more lively and more practical, perhaps it would become an integral part of the house. For example, just by installing mirrors, trinket trays, a pencil holder and a notepad, maybe even a landline phone, we would spend more time there. And what if you added a toad chair, a small coffee table, and a magazine rack?

Why not create an annex of the living room, a cozy corner where you can take refuge?

Let’s take this approach further: install works of art there! Yes, if you hang intriguing, pleasant And your guests would linger there too, forgetting that they are not in a “living” room but in your entrance hall.

Repurposing a room is an art. And this art can very aptly be applied to an entrance hall so that we spend more time there and integrate it completely with the rest of the house. And you, what are your tips for decorating and arranging your entrance? How do you perceive this room?

Paint without counting

Reading this title, you might imagine a colorful room, in the spirit of a patchwork. That’s not the idea at all: this title suggests that you bring some color to your hall, to make it warmer and more welcoming. A section of wall in mustard yellow or charred blue can make a big difference. You can even go so far as to paint stripes, for a zebra look (but be careful not to fall into the savannah spirit if the decoration doesn’t fit with this busy style.)
