How to obtain a DCG through work-study?
Being able to pursue their studies while working is what many do to make ends meet. Indeed, with the status of employees, they already earn money, but being still students, they optimize their CVs. This is the winning ticket that many choose to take to be able to obtain the DCG diploma in work-study.
Here is a short guide to following a DCG course in work-study.
Obtaining a DCG through work-study, what does it involve?
The Diploma in Accounting and Organizational Management can be obtained with work-study courses. This is what ESCG offers. This apprenticeship model is based on the German model. Its main objective: is to reduce youth unemployment. At the same time, it encourages young people to pursue higher education.
To covet the DCG while being an employee, the two institutions must be in perfect agreement. Generally, the problem does not arise at the level of the educational institution, because giving courses to workers is already part of the program.
It is within the company that things get a little more complicated. Indeed, it must validate your project through a professionalization contract or an apprenticeship contract.
Do you have the profile to follow a work-study program at DCG?
Not everyone can necessarily pursue studies in accounting and organizational management in alternation. At least, certain conditions must be respected. Age is an important parameter, for example.
You must be between 16 and 25 to benefit from this program. In case you are 26 years old or older, things get a little more complicated. In this case, your name must appear on the list of job seekers.
Otherwise, all is not lost if you are a beneficiary of a social allowance such as the AAH, the RSA, or the CUI. Apart from that, the minimum requirements are the same as for the DCG in alternation in class.
What will the rhythm of the alternating courses be like?
To be able to attend classes and work at the same time, you have to follow a fairly strict program. Both types of courses last 2 years. The distribution of class times and working hours is different from one institution to another. However, in general, you will have 2 days of classes in the classroom, and 3 days in the office for work.
Some institutions prefer to alternate one week of classes and one week of in-company presence, while others have opted for 2 weeks of theoretical training and 2 weeks of office application. It is best to know this before you register for the courses.
How to find a company that will validate your approach?
Everyone has their ways of finding an apprenticeship or professional training contract with a company. While some prefer to scour the web for ads related to their search, others choose to talk about their desire around them or on social networks.
Others still opt for the good old employment centers. Choosing to take courses to obtain a DCG in work-study therefore allows you, at the same time, to generate a stable income and enrich your knowledge. At the same time, this process allows you to immerse yourself in the professional world from the start. Afterward, you have the choice between joining a company or continuing your higher education to obtain other diplomas.
