In the United States, the 1929 crisis pushed manufacturers to bring aesthetics to consumer products. The first industrial design agencies appeared to offer everyday objects inspired by aerodynamic shapes. Manufactured objects carry not only an aesthetic value but also a symbolic one, like the famous Coca-Cola bottle.
During the post-war period, designers adopted rounder and more fluid shapes, this was neo-modernism. Plastic materials replaced the steel tubes of the 1930s. Designers who are still very famous today appeared, such as Charles and Ray Eames with their famous chairs in the United States. Italy created its legendary Vespas and espresso machines.
Even today, design is at the heart of our daily lives: from our laptops to our desk lamps, from our favorite armchairs to our cars.
